Publishing a page

publish buttonsOnce you've made your changes and you think your new page is ready for the world to see, then it's time to publish it to the live site.

1.  Click on Edit from the top menu, then locate the page you want to publish and click on it to get to the page information screen.

2. In the page information screen you'll see a button marked Publish to live site (if the page hasn't yet been published for the first time), or alternatively it'll show Update on live site if this page is already live.

3. Click on this button, and you'll be given an option pop up like this:

4. You can choose from the following Publish options in the drop-down menu:

  • Content and SubMenu
      - This publishes any changes to the Sub-Menu for this page and all sub-pages (such as order, visibility etc.)
  • Content Only
      - This only publishes the content of this page, and ignore any menu changes
  • SubMenu Only
      - This only published changes to the menu system (such as order, visibility etc.)
  • Update all children too
      - This will go through all sub-pages of this page and republish their content and menus as well

5. Once you've select an option (or just leave it as the default one), click on the Update on live site button and your page will be published.

Refreshing the whole website

Sometimes you want to refresh the full website, if you've changed lots of pages that still need publishing, or if you want to make lots of changes to the menu system at once.

1. Click on Edit then Refresh Site from the top menu

2. This will display the following screen:

3. Check/uncheck the tickboxes for the options you want

4. Click on Publish Changes and the whole site will refresh (it may take a few seconds).  The pages that have been changed will be displayed on completion.
