Twitter Addon

The Twitter addon allows you to:

  • Post tweets directly from the CMS, when you update a page, add a new item, or just make up your own.
  • View your Twitter feed, timeline and @replies
  • Reply to tweets
  • Retweet & view tweets

Note that your Twitter account is connected to your user account in the CMS, so only you can post Tweets.

Connecting your Twitter account

Sign in with TwitterTo access the functions of the Twitter addon, you'll need to connect your Twitter account to the CMS.

1. Click on Addons then Twitter from the top menu

2. Click on Sign in with Twitter and a window will pop up asking you to authorise Hidden CMS to connect to your Twitter account (see below)

3. Enter your Twitter username and password, and click Sign In

4. You should then be sent back to Hidden CMS and a confirmation will appear to show you've successfully connected the CMS to Twitter.

5. Click on Addons then Twitter again from the top navigation menu, and you should see something like this:

Update social networksYou can now post Tweets or view your timeline directly from this page.  You'll also see some extra options when you update a page on the live site, to allow you to post an update with a link to the page you're updating.

You can customise the message to send, and tick the Post to Twitter box to send the update after you've clicked Update on live site.

Disconnecting your Twitter Account

To disconnect your Twitter account from the CMS:

1. Click on Addons then Twitter

2. Click on the X (cross) symbol next to your username - a confirmation will apear to say you have been disconnected from Twitter.
