CMS stands for (C)ontent (M)anagement (S)ystem - the background part of your website that you can access with your web browser, which allows you to change the text, images and layout of your own website.
Hidden CMS provides this service, and in a simple and easy to understand way.
Hidden CMS version 1 was built in 2007 and relied on retrieving pages from a database.
Version 2 was built in 2009 and designed to be scaleable, more efficient, easier to use and easily upgradeable. This version added such features as static HTML page generation, a plug-in framework, and could be easily customised to fit any website.
Version 3 (called Arnold) appeared in 2010, and included a brand new interface, a complete code redesign plus a load of extra features like page snapshots, new file manager and Facebook/Twitter integration.
Version 4 (called Francis) was finished in July 2011. This latest built has a brand new interface design, it's had a major tidy up to improve consistency, plus lots of tweaks to make it more pleasant to use. Have a look at the changelog for more detail on the version history of Hidden CMS.
